46. SIGNALS SECTION OF THE OXFORD UNIVERSITY OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS

By an unknown photographer (1909-10)

This group photographed was probably taken during the 1910 summer camp. Lawrence (front row left) was a member of the signals section, which he may have joined because its duties included a good deal of cycling. The semaphore signallers in the back row are spelling out: 'O.U.A.V', presumably standing for 'Oxford University Army Volunteers'.
